ACCELERATED READER FOR NEW STUDENTS and RISING KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS:
Accelerated Reader (AR) is a technology-based literacy management program that is an important part of our reading program at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School.
A student in kindergarten through second grade either listens to reading or reads an AR book independently, then assesses his or her understanding of the book by answering questions on the computer. The computer handles all scoring and record-keeping. Once you sign in to our AR website you can click on AR 360* (orange button) and follow the prompts. If you need your login information, please contact tech_dept@stjoan.org. AR quizzes cn only be taken at school from our IP address.
WRONG TEST/DELETING TESTS:
If your child starts to take a wrong test, he or she must finish the test in order to be delete it. Please email Ms. Acuna at acuna_andrea@stjoan.org
CANNOT FIND TEST/HOW DO I KNOW IF MY BOOK HAS AN AR QUIZ:
In order to check if the book is an AR book go to ARbookfind.com. If the book has two names, for example, Theodore Boone: The Kid Lawyer, then write The Kid Lawyer or use the Advanced Search and search by the author’s name.
MY BOOK DOES NOT HAVE AN AR QUIZ:
Before reading a book please check to see if your book has an AR quiz for it. Still want to read it and wait to see if they make an AR quiz for, then go to ARbookfind.com and click on the Suggest Quizzes at the top, fill up the information required and you will receive an email when the test is ready. Not all books will have an AR quiz and depending on how popular the books are it may take a long time for them to make an AR quiz.

Students and Parents can search for Accelerated Reader Books to read at home! By logging onto www.arbookfind.com, you will be able to see the reading level and the point values of all AR books.
