School Counseling
Hello and Welcome to St. Joan of Arc School Counseling website!
My name is Cristy Eckelkamp, and I am blessed to be a part of this wonderful school community.
As your Counselor, I seek God's wisdom to be an example of his love, compassion, understanding and empathy to every student I meet. Our program “Education in Virtue”, by Openlightmedia, which is used schoolwide, assists me in helping children develop social emotional skills in self-management, self-awareness, responsible decision-making, relationship skills and social awareness. The development of these skills corresponds directly to the habit and practice of the Cardinal Virtues of Temperance, Fortitude, Prudence, and Justice. The teaching and practice of these virtues during the elementary and middle school years prepares students to better manage their emotions as they grow older.
Students are welcome and can make appointments to meet with me by stopping by my office, telling their teacher, staff or the front office. I also offer support to teachers and parents to ensure the effectiveness of student academic and behavioral plans, learning needs and interventions to enhance student success.
